Admin control is a setting or policy that lets an organization’s administrator enable, disable, or manage a feature for users. In cloud services, controls may apply across an organization, a group, or individual accounts, depending on the provider and product.
These controls matter because they help security teams govern how new capabilities are used, meet internal requirements, and reduce unwanted exposure. When a feature has no admin control, organizations may be unable to centrally restrict its use or configure it to match their policies. For AI-assisted email, for example, administrators should clarify whether users can access the feature and remind them to verify important information against the original message. Admin control is a governance capability, not proof that a feature is secure or insecure.
