AI message logs are stored records of prompts sent to an AI system and the responses it generated. Depending on the service, they may also include timestamps, account identifiers, or other metadata. Because conversations can contain business details, personal information, or operational procedures, these records should be treated as sensitive data.
In cyber security, exposed logs can reveal internal activity even when no system is directly compromised. Attackers who gain access may use the contents to identify people, workflows, or useful targets; defenders should not assume that exposure proves theft or misuse. Limit access to log stores, restrict unnecessary internet exposure, define retention periods, and apply appropriate encryption and monitoring. Treat prompts and outputs as confidential records when assessing storage and access controls.
