Blind spots

Areas where weak coverage or poor interpretation hides important threats.

Blind spots are areas where an organization has weak coverage, poor visibility, or flawed interpretation, allowing important threats to go unnoticed. In cybersecurity, they are not only missing logs or sensors; they can also arise when teams collect plenty of telemetry but fail to understand which signals matter. That makes blind spots a risk-management problem as much as a monitoring problem.

They matter because attackers often look for what defenders cannot see well. Gaps in endpoint coverage, cloud misconfigurations, shadow IT, unmonitored accounts, or alert fatigue can all hide early signs of intrusion. In defense, reducing blind spots means improving asset inventory, tuning detections, correlating data across sources, and triaging high-value alerts first. The goal is not more data by itself, but clearer judgment about where exposure is concentrated and what deserves immediate action.
