A bulletin board is a shared surface for public notices and community messages. It can be physical, like a hallway notice board, or digital, like a forum or internal announcement space. Its security value comes from context: people expect certain messages to belong there, which helps them judge relevance and trust.
In cyber security, bulletin boards matter because attackers often exploit open posting spaces for spam, phishing, or social engineering. A convincing message placed in a trusted community channel can spread faster than an obvious scam elsewhere. Defenders reduce this risk with moderation, posting rules, identity checks, and clear provenance markers that show who published a message and whether it was approved. A well-managed bulletin board supports communication; an unmanaged one becomes a noisy trust problem.
