Conference room security is the set of physical, procedural, and technical safeguards that protect sensitive meetings from unauthorized access, listening, recording, or disclosure. It can include controlling room entry, checking for unfamiliar devices, securing meeting equipment, and limiting what confidential material is left behind.
Meeting rooms can expose business plans, personnel matters, legal discussions, or incident-response details. In real attacks, someone with legitimate access-or an intruder exploiting weak access controls-might place a recording device or observe a meeting. Defenses include badge-controlled entry, clear device-handling rules, room checks when warranted, secure audiovisual systems, and staff training. If a suspected compromise occurs, preserve potential evidence and follow incident-response procedures rather than disturbing it. These controls complement, but do not replace, cybersecurity protections for accounts, devices, and networks.
