A distributed antenna system is a network of small antennas and signal equipment placed throughout a large venue to extend cellular coverage indoors. Instead of relying on one distant tower signal, the DAS redistributes mobile radio service across concourses, seating areas, tunnels, and back-of-house spaces where walls, concrete, and crowd density would otherwise weaken reception.
In cyber security, DAS matters because mobile connectivity is part of modern venue operations. It supports ticketing, payments, staff communications, and app-based entry, so outages can become both a service problem and an operational risk. Defenders treat DAS as critical infrastructure: they monitor availability, isolate management interfaces, coordinate with carrier partners, and test fallback paths. Attackers may try to exploit weak coverage, overload the network, or interfere with radio services to disrupt authentication, communications, or customer access.
