A drone video link is the wireless communication path that carries live video from an aircraft to a receiver, such as a controller or ground station. It typically uses a radio transmitter on the drone and a compatible receiver, with performance shaped by frequency, bandwidth, antenna placement, signal strength, and interference.
In cyber security, the link matters because it is a radio channel that may be monitored, disrupted, or, if protections are weak, accessed by an unauthorized party. Defenders can assess the equipment and firmware, use appropriate encryption and authentication, and observe radio-frequency activity for unexpected transmissions or interference. A device’s capabilities can also depend on its software, so hardware labels alone may not describe how its radio is being used.
