Icosahedron

A 20-faced geometric solid often used in visual and mechanical design.

An icosahedron is a polyhedron with 20 triangular faces. It is a common geometric primitive in CAD, animation, mechanical design, and prototyping because it provides a compact, symmetric shape that is easy to model and repeat. In physical builds, its many faces can create visible state changes, stable rotations, or distinctive enclosures.

In cyber security, geometry like this matters in hardware security, device forensics, and secure product design. Engineers may use icosahedral forms when building test rigs, tamper-evident shells, or kinetic displays that must move predictably. Defenders care because unusual shapes can hide sensors, wear points, or access seams, while attackers may try to exploit those weak points. Understanding the form helps analysts reason about how a device behaves, how it can be opened, and whether movement or alignment affects reliability.
