Journalistic narration

spoken reporting that guides the viewer through facts and context.

Journalistic narration is spoken reporting that guides the viewer through facts, context, and uncertainty. In cybersecurity, it is used to explain technical events in a way that non-specialists can follow, such as how an intrusion moved from initial access to privilege escalation, or why a control failed. Good narration separates confirmed evidence from analysis and avoids turning editing choices into false certainty.

This matters because cyber incidents are often complex and easy to misread. Clear narration can improve security awareness, incident briefings, threat reports, and defensive training by turning logs, alerts, and timelines into a coherent story. In attacks, the same persuasive technique can be abused in scam videos, fake advisories, or manipulated clips to make a claim sound credible. For defenders, the key is to use narration to clarify facts, not to replace them.
