Neural wiring is the pattern of connections that links neurons into circuits. In biology, it describes which cells talk to which others, how strongly they connect, and how information flows through a nervous system. A connectome is a map of this wiring at a given scale.
For cyber security, the term matters because modern AI and brain-computer systems also depend on connection patterns. Attackers can poison training data, implant backdoors, or tamper with model weights to change a network’s effective wiring and behavior. Defenders study these paths to spot anomalies, compare expected versus observed activation routes, and validate that a system’s structure still matches its intended function. Precise wiring maps help with analysis, but they do not by themselves prove safety or explain behavior.
