A corporate newsletter is a recurring email sent by a company to a defined audience, such as customers, partners, or employees. It is a form of owned media: the organization controls the message, timing, and subscriber list, instead of relying on a third-party platform.
In cyber security, newsletters matter because email is both a trusted channel and a common attack surface. Criminals often imitate company newsletters to deliver phishing links, fake login pages, or malicious attachments. Defenders use newsletters for security awareness, policy updates, and incident communication, but they should protect them with strong sender authentication such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, plus clear branding and domain monitoring. A well-managed newsletter helps preserve trust; a compromised or spoofed one can quickly be used to steal credentials or spread malware.
