Phantom Stealer

An info-stealer family associated with harvesting browser and wallet-related data from infected systems.

Phantom Stealer is an info-stealer malware family designed to collect sensitive data from infected Windows systems. Its targets commonly include saved browser credentials, session cookies, payment details, and cryptocurrency wallet artifacts. That makes it dangerous because the attacker may gain more than a password: stolen cookies can preserve access to accounts, and wallet data can enable financial theft.

In real attacks, Phantom Stealer is often delivered through phishing lures and staged script chains that use tools such as JavaScript and PowerShell before the final payload runs. This helps attackers blend into ordinary system activity and reduces reliance on an obvious standalone malware file. Defenders look for script execution anomalies, suspicious parent-child process chains, malicious attachments, and unusual browser-data access. Reducing stored credentials and using phishing-resistant authentication can also limit the value of stolen data.
