PMI-ACP is the Project Management Institute’s Agile Certified Practitioner credential. It validates knowledge of agile delivery methods, including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme Programming (XP), and test-driven development. Unlike a framework-specific badge, it is broader and is meant to show that the holder can work across agile practices and adapt them to different teams and projects.
In cyber security, this matters because security work is often delivered in fast, changing backlogs: vulnerability fixes, detection rules, phishing defenses, secure code changes, and incident-response improvements all need tight coordination. PMI-ACP skills help teams prioritize work in short cycles, limit bottlenecks, and verify changes early with testing. In real defenses, that can improve DevSecOps pipelines, patch management, and security feature delivery. It is less about theory and more about running security work in a controlled, iterative way.
