Prompt sharing is the reuse or distribution of the same text instructions so multiple users can work from a common guide. In AI systems, a prompt can define style, constraints, target outcomes, or safety rules, so sharing it helps teams produce more consistent results and reduces duplicated effort.
In cyber security, prompt sharing matters because prompts often contain sensitive operational details, including internal processes, data-handling rules, or security checks. If those instructions are copied into untrusted tools or shared too broadly, they can leak workflow logic or create opportunities for prompt injection and policy bypass. Defenders use prompt sharing carefully: they version prompts, limit access, and review them like code. Attackers may also share prompts to automate phishing, social engineering, or mass content generation, making abuse faster and more repeatable.
