A Salesforce organization, often called an org, is a company’s dedicated Salesforce environment, or tenant. It contains business data such as customer records, along with users, settings, permissions, and workflows. Organizations can also connect to other services and support data exports.
Because an org may hold sensitive information and link to other systems, unauthorized access or a misuse of privileged accounts can expose data or disrupt business processes. Defenders should enforce strong authentication, limit permissions, review connected applications, and monitor login, administrative, and export activity. In an extortion claim involving Salesforce-linked material, an alleged org or export does not by itself prove access or data theft; those claims should be checked against logs and other evidence.
