Series G

A later-stage funding round for a private company, usually used to support further growth.

Series G is a later-stage funding round for a private company. It usually comes after earlier rounds such as Series A, B, C, and so on, and is used to raise more capital for expansion, product development, hiring, or market growth. In cybersecurity, a Series G round often signals that a vendor has reached a mature stage and is trying to scale its platform and customer base.

This matters to defenders because late-stage funding can affect how quickly a security company can add features, support large customers, and meet compliance or reliability demands. Security buyers often watch these rounds as a sign of market confidence, but funding is not the same as security quality. In real attacks and defenses, the term appears in vendor reporting, procurement decisions, and market analysis, where teams assess whether a company has the resources to sustain a critical data protection, detection, or response product.
