Submersible drone

A robot designed to operate in water or other submerged conditions.

A submersible drone is a robot designed to operate in water or other submerged conditions. It may inspect hulls, pipelines, dams, lakes, or seafloor assets without putting a person in the water. In security-sensitive environments, that makes it a useful remote tool for collecting data where visibility is poor and the physical environment is hazardous.

In cyber security, these systems matter because they depend on software, sensors, telemetry, and remote control links. Attackers may try to spoof navigation data, intercept commands, disrupt communications, or tamper with firmware to alter what the drone sees or how it behaves. Defenders reduce that risk with signed firmware, encrypted control channels, strong authentication, logging, and fail-safe modes that keep the device safe if links or positioning are lost.
