Territorial care

A service model that brings healthcare closer to patients through local and community-based pathways.

Territorial care is a healthcare model that delivers services through local, community-based pathways instead of relying only on large hospitals. It includes clinics, primary care networks, home care, and local support services designed to keep care close to patients and easier to coordinate across institutions.

In cyber security, this model matters because it increases the number of systems, users, and handoffs involved in patient care. More endpoints, more shared records, and more remote access can create a wider attack surface for ransomware, phishing, data leakage, and misconfigured permissions. Defenses must therefore include strong identity management, secure data sharing, logging, device protection, and clear responsibility for each partner. When well governed, territorial care can improve resilience by distributing services and preserving continuity if one site is disrupted.
