A validation step is the human review that checks an AI-generated result before it is used. The person confirms that the output is accurate, safe, complete, and appropriate for the task. In security operations, this might mean reviewing an AI-written detection rule, a triage summary, a firewall change, or a phishing analysis before it is applied.
This step matters because AI can be helpful and still be wrong, overconfident, or incomplete. In cyber security, a bad suggestion can create false alarms, missed detections, unsafe code, or unwanted access changes. Attackers may also exploit overreliance on automation by crafting inputs that mislead models or push teams toward unsafe decisions. A strong validation step adds accountability: the model proposes, but a trained person approves. That human check is a practical defense against hallucinations, prompt injection, and risky automation.
