“Value for money” is the principle that a product’s price should be justified by its benefits, features, and expected performance. In regulated finance, it is used to judge whether fees, commissions, and product complexity are reasonable for the customer who buys them. The idea is not just about being cheap: a higher-cost product can still offer value if it delivers better protection, service, or outcomes.
In cyber security and digital finance operations, this principle matters because firms must keep product data, disclosures, and sales records accurate and consistent. If online channels show outdated fees, hidden charges, or misleading comparisons, the organization may fail compliance checks even without a direct attack. Attackers can also exploit weak document controls or tamper with customer-facing information, so secure workflows, audit trails, and access controls help prove that products are presented fairly and that their costs remain defensible.
