Walkie-talkie interface

a push-to-talk style interaction pattern that favors short voice exchanges.

A walkie-talkie interface is a voice interaction pattern built around brief, turn-by-turn exchanges, often activated by pressing and holding a button to speak. Unlike continuous listening, push-to-talk lets users choose when to transmit a message and when to listen for a response.

In cyber security, this interface matters because voice can make tools usable when typing is inconvenient, but spoken prompts may expose code, credentials, or operational details to people nearby. In voice-enabled AI workflows, users should avoid sharing sensitive information in public, check how audio and transcripts are handled, and review generated instructions before acting on them. Push-to-talk can limit unintended capture, but it does not by itself protect the content from being overheard or stored.
