Net price is the underlying cost of a product or service after certain extra charges have been removed. Those charges can include taxes, regulatory levies, network fees, or other add-ons that make a final bill harder to compare. The net price gives a cleaner view of the base cost and is often used alongside the gross price, which is the full amount paid.
In cyber security, net pricing matters when organizations compare security tools, cloud services, telecom plans, or incident-response contracts across vendors and countries. Gross prices can hide big differences in taxation or bundled fees, while net prices make it easier to benchmark spending and spot unusual charges. Defenders also use net price analysis in procurement reviews and invoice audits to detect fraud, overbilling, or misleading quotes.
